How do I calculate age for government job and exam eligibility?
Recruitment notices state an age limit 'as on' a specific date, for example 1 January or 1 August. Set the Age on date to that cut-off and compare the result with the minimum and maximum age, remembering any relaxation for your category.
Why do different age calculators give slightly different answers?
Months have different lengths, so some tools count by 30-day months. This calculator counts real calendar months, which matches how ages are counted on official forms.

How is exact age calculated?
Full years are counted first, then full months after the last birthday, then the remaining days. For example, from 15 March 2000 to 10 October 2026 is 26 years, 6 months and 25 days.
How do I check my age for an exam cut-off date?
Set the 'Age on' date to the cut-off date in the official notification, such as 1 August. The result shows your age on that exact day.
What if I was born on 29 February?
In non-leap years your birthday is counted on 28 February for the next-birthday countdown.
Is my date of birth saved?
