How do I resize an image?

Resize, crop or convert: what is the difference?
Resizing changes the number of pixels. Presets also crop from the center so the photo fits an exact shape, like a square Instagram post. Converting changes the file type, for example HEIC to JPG, without changing how the picture looks.
What does 'Lock ratio' do?
It keeps the width and height in the same proportion as the original, so faces and objects do not look stretched. Type only the width and the height is filled in for you.
Which format should I pick?
JPG works everywhere and is best for photos. PNG supports transparency and is best for logos and screenshots. WebP gives the smallest files for websites.
