Why do some PDF to Word converters mess up the layout?
A PDF stores letters at fixed positions instead of paragraphs. A good converter has to work out which letters form lines, paragraphs, columns and tables. Will tables and formatting be kept?
Editable text mode keeps paragraphs, headings, bold, italic, text size and alignment. Tables become plain lines of text and images are left out. Exact look mode keeps everything as it looks, but as page pictures you cannot edit.
Can it convert scanned PDFs?
Scanned pages have no text inside, so they are added to the Word file as pictures. To copy their words, use Image to Text.
